The Binghamton University Pharmacy Technician Program Microcredential is a comprehensive 20-week, 420-hour training program designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel as entry-level pharmacy technicians. This noncredit program emphasizes hands-on learning through a blend of online modules, live classroom instruction, and state-of-the-art simulation labs. Students will gain practical experience in medication dispensing, compounding, inventory management, and insurance processing. A key component is the clinical rotations offered at local hospitals and pharmacies, providing real-world exposure under experienced preceptors. The program is designed to prepare graduates to successfully pass the national pharmacy technician certification exam and pursue fulfilling careers in the healthcare field. With a mission to build an educated healthcare workforce, Binghamton University strives for 100% job placement for its pharmacy technician graduates. Furthermore, the program is currently in the pre-accreditation phase with ASHP and ACPE.
