The Pharmacy Technician program at equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe and effective medication management. Students will learn the fundamental principles of pharmacy practice, including pharmacy law and ethics, medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and medication safety. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics, such as dispensing medications, compounding sterile and non-sterile preparations, managing inventory, and providing excellent customer service. The program typically includes hands-on training in a simulated pharmacy lab and a required externship or clinical experience in a real-world pharmacy setting. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared to sit for a nationally recognized Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam and pursue entry-level positions as pharmacy technicians in retail pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings.
