City College of San Francisco’s Pharmacy Technician program is a comprehensive two-semester curriculum designed to equip students with the essential administrative and clinical skills needed to thrive as entry-level pharmacy technicians. This program provides a unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, allowing students to gain valuable hands-on training in real-world pharmacy settings within the San Francisco Bay Area. Under the guidance of licensed pharmacists, students will hone their skills in either a retail or hospital environment, preparing them for the challenges and rewards of this growing healthcare field. Upon successful completion of the program’s 30 units, students will receive a Certificate of Achievement and become eligible to apply for licensure with the California State Board of Pharmacy, opening doors to fulfilling careers in institutional, community-based, or hospital pharmacies. Furthermore, the program’s coursework is designed to facilitate seamless transfer to related majors at four-year universities for students looking to further their education.
