Binghamton University’s Pharmacy Technician Program Microcredential is a comprehensive 20-week, 420-hour training program designed to equip graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel as entry-level pharmacy technicians. The curriculum combines online learning, live classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory experience, and valuable clinical rotations in diverse pharmacy settings. Students will learn essential tasks such as dispensing prescriptions, preparing medications, managing inventory, and processing insurance claims, while also exploring expanded roles like medication reconciliation and allergy screening. The program’s mission is to build a well-educated healthcare workforce in the Binghamton/Broome County area by preparing students to confidently pass the national pharmacy technician certification exam and secure employment. Upon completion, participants will also receive a PTCB exam voucher and a one-year ASHP membership.
