The Pharmacy Technician program at is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to assist pharmacists in providing safe and effective medication services. The program typically covers a range of topics, including pharmaceutical calculations, pharmacy law and ethics, pharmacology, medication safety, inventory management, and sterile compounding techniques. Students will learn how to interpret prescriptions, prepare and dispense medications, maintain patient records, and communicate with patients and healthcare providers. A significant portion of the program is dedicated to hands-on training in a simulated pharmacy environment, allowing students to practice their skills in a realistic setting. In addition to classroom instruction, students will likely complete an externship or clinical experience in a pharmacy setting, providing valuable real-world experience. Graduates of the program will be prepared to pursue careers as pharmacy technicians in retail pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare settings, and they’ll be equipped to successfully pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam.
